I am Michelle Hall a Kinship Care and Life Story Work expert. As a kinship carer myself, my lived experience and passion for improving kinship families' lives drives my research, which focuses on maintaining children's connections with parents — explored from the perspectives of both special guardians and parents.
I am an experienced lecturer and researcher who sits on several steering and advisory groups shaping policy, practice, and research. I design and deliver bespoke training to enhance CPD offers for local authorities and organisations, as well as one-off keynotes.
I am a co-trainer for the Department for Education-funded Life Story Workshops for kinship carers, delivered with the national charity Kinship. This training differs from life story work in adoption and fostering, and is specifically tailored for kinship families like mine, who "live" the story.
I am certified in life story listening and life story coaching.
I currently offer families and local authorities discounted rates for Therapeutic Life Story Work, as a trainee Certified Therapeutic Life Story Work Practitioner under the supervision of Laura Neal and Kim Matthews. Get in touch if you're interested.

What Matter life story training for practitioners is now CPD Certified (5 CPD hours). Please note the Department for Education funded Life Story in Kinship Care with the charity Kinship, is for kinship carers only and is not CPD certified training.
